It's almost ready! Just waiting on a few more videos from my group members (hence the blank squares).
For our digital pedagogy project of teaching teachers how to use twitter I have been tasked with explaining tweets, retweets, URL shorteners, and #hashtags. As a supplement to my screencast on tweets, I created this guide to education hashtags:
So last night I ended up sticking around after class with Sean, Eric, and the other Alyssa. Professor Jeff was "strongly encouraging" us to do a large collaborative digital pedagogy project on Twitter chats which morphed into Twitter for Educators as a whole. The plan is to have a whole lot of screencasts on using Twitter, from setting up an account to hashtags to twitter edchats. I think the ulterior motive is so he can use it for future classes. But I guess that would make it a project for an authentic audience?
Anyways, I'm becoming obsessed with infographics which I think could be used to enhance this digital pedagogy project, like this one here. Thoughts? For my digital pedagogy project I am thinking of finishing a project I started a year ago. It's my website, Minimalist Bride, that I started as a resource for/documentation of minimalists trying to plan a wedding in an industry that is anything but minimalist.
Minimalism is the philosophy that by eliminating excess in your life (be it possessions, obligations, or relationships) you are left with more time, money, and energy for those fewer things that are really important. What my website has become is a documentation of my own minimalist journey with lots of posts that serve as "tutorials" for decluttering as well as streamlining and simplifying everyday tasks (grocery shopping, cooking, clothes). Originally it was in blog form but I have begun restructuring it with separate sections for wedding planning/resources and minimalist living resources. I now have landing pages linking to specific posts about minimalist living. If I were just starting now I think this would be a massive undertaking, but since I have already been writing and collecting resources sporadically for a year it is a matter of restructuring and filling in identified gaps in the site.
